Hi, my name is Joanna, and I was born and raised in Honghe, Yunnan, as a member of the Hani people. I grew up among the rice terraces, where my family has farmed for generations. I have a passion for my culture, local food, and storytelling. Most of all, I love meeting people and sharing the place I call home.
With its misty mountains, mirror-like flooded fields, traditional mushroom-roof villages, and warm, proud communities, the Hani Rice Terraces are a living landscape shaped over more than a thousand years. It’s easy to see why they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Let me be your guide. I’ll take you to the best viewpoints at sunrise and sunset, introduce you to Hani village life, and share local food and traditions along the way. You can choose from my tour offers, or I can create a custom tour for you.
Tour ideas
• Sunrise at the terraces: Duoyishu or Laohuzui viewpoints
• Hani village walk and a home-cooked meal
